Cordeel Family Day 2022
We were delighted to welcome almost 200 guests of all ages at Rotterdam Blijdorp Zoo last Saturday. Family Day started in the morning with a joint reception in the Shark Room, where a seven-and-a-half-metre window offered a spectacular view of the turtles, barracudas and sharks in the Atlantic Sea Basin. The Zoo Escape Game started from this room as each team was equipped with a tablet before setting off on an adventure. The children also began their scavenger hunts from here.
In the afternoon, the zoo’s tour guides provided a behind-the-scenes peek at the Oceanium and talked about the special care given to the animals in the oldest part of the zoo. They discussed happenings behind the scenes and offered great insights into the wildlife, their care and the history of the zoo.
Engineers at heart, we also learned more about the technical aspects of the construction, furnishing and maintenance of the habitats.
Cordeel Family Day ended with a wonderful barbecue. We all had a great time!
