Solar frame pilot to directly supply building sites with green electricity

We recently took another step in our transition towards emission-free building sites by initiating a pilot at our location in Vlissingen. A site hut has been fitted with a specially designed robust frame containing solar panels. Supplied by Custom Containers, the solar frame is already converting the sun’s energy into electricity.

This innovation means site accommodation can be supplied directly with green electricity generated on site. We aim to reduce our reliance on grid connections and generators and optimise the use of green energy.

As the solar panels are fitted securely to the frame, they can be dismantled and easily stacked ready for transport on completion of a construction project. This also reduces the risk of damage while in transit to other sites. The solar panels can be fitted in four different directions, resulting in optimal orientation for electricity generation per location. Ultimately, we want to fit solar frames to all unused site hut rooftops and make a valuable contribution to the energy transition!
