Cordeel Familiedag 2020

Cordeel springs into action for charity during Family Day 2020

The second weekend of September, from Friday to Sunday, the employees of Cordeel Nederland and their families sprang into action to raise money for charity.

We believe that family values matter. This is evident throughout the company, not least during our annual Family Day each September when colleagues and their close family members are invited to spend a day together and take part in various group activities. The health and safety of our employees and their families remain our greatest priority, of course, and due to the current circumstances and coronavirus measures, our usual gathering was not possible this year.

Although Family Day could not take place in its traditional form, we decided to adjust things rather than cancel everything. We gave colleagues not one but three whole days to complete a Family Day activity in an environment of their choosing – and with great results!

In line with the Cordeel spirit, families were active the entire weekend, participating in various sports activities to raise money for the charity of their choice. Cordeel colleagues, young and old – together with partners, children, siblings and parents – walked, hiked, cycled and scootered many kilometres. Everyone shared the same goal: to support a good cause on behalf of Cordeel.

Thanks to the dedication, enthusiasm and team spirit on display, Family Day 2020 was an outstanding success! Despite our inability to meet in person, families united in their efforts and the ethos of the day survived unscathed. Messages were shared throughout the weekend as well as photographs and numerous physical achievements. The weekend’s activities managed to raise €4,325, something we can be very proud of. As a gesture of appreciation, Cordeel has doubled this amount! Therefore, €8,650 will be donated to numerous charities, including lung health, animal rescue, cancer research and regional nature preservation.

The list of Dutch charities which were supported during Family Day 2020 includes the following: Longfonds, CliniClowns, Sam& voor alle kinderen, Dierenasiel Terneuzen, Stichting PhySCI, Stichting MS Research, Stichting Bouwdorp Vuren, Stichting Het Zeeuwse Landschap, Hartstichting, Stichting Bethlehem, Stichting Still, KWF, Nierstichting, Stichting De Hoop, KiKa, Stichting Hondjes en Katjes ARCA, Krajicek Foundation and High Five Foundation.

Our heartfelt thanks to everyone for their efforts during this year’s Family Day weekend. We hope to see you all in good health next year for a more traditional event.
