Appartementen Feithplein Voorburg

Cordeel Nederland, De Maese Woningen and Holland Immo Group recently signed agreements for the construction of 116 apartments, which will form part of the Feithplein Voorburg project.

Feithplein Voorburg will entail the transformation of two former office blocks into residential towers that will house 95 rental apartments, 21 owner-occupied apartments and a number of commercial spaces in the plinth. The towers are part of a residential complex which will include an underground car park, a theatre, a sports hall and a swimming pool.

In addition to a change of function, the conversion will involve a complete metamorphosis. New floors will be added and the buildings will be made sustainable and energy efficient. The square between the two towers will also be given an entirely new green appearance. Feithplein is situated directly next to Noteboompark and the Julianabaan shopping centre.

This month, we will start stripping the buildings, after which the demolition work will begin. We expect the 95 rental apartments and the commercial spaces to be completed in Q2 of 2021. The owner-occupied apartments will be ready at a later stage.

KuiperCompagnons architects are responsible for designing the complex and the green square.

Holland Immo Group has purchased 95 rental apartments, 113 parking places and two commercial spaces for its residential rental fund, IMMO Huurwoningfonds 2. Available in various sizes, these apartments will be rented out in the lower and mid-range segments. The smaller homes in the project tie in with the Municipality of Leidschendam-Voorburg’s aim to provide starter homes at affordable rents.

De Maese Woningen will sell the 21 luxury owner-occupied apartments on the top floors and the penthouse (approx. 248 m2). The start of sale event will take place on 1 February 2020 and the selling agent is WVK Makelaars in Voorburg.

Cordeel anticipates further growth for Schelde Exotech

The breaking ground ceremony for the Schelde Exotech expansion project took place today and was attended by Brisck’s Marijn Snellen (deputy director) and Isabelle Lips (commercial property manager) and the Cordeel project team. Jos Mols, the CEO of Schelde Exotech, officially broke ground on a development that will involve expanding the production hall and constructing a new cleanroom. Delivery will take place two years after the successful completion of Schelde Exotech’s new business premises (5,500 m2) in 2022.

Deep foundations, lofty ambitions: Cordeel acts as both developer and contractor for the C-Sight project

The C-Sight residential project is being built by the wide sandy beach at Cadzand. During the past few weeks, we have been drilling the foundation piles (201 in total), and more than half have already been successfully drilled to a depth of 24 metres.

Celebrating knowledge and experience at Cordeel’s jubilee event

At our recent jubilee event at Het Hooihuis in Roosendaal, a select group of Cordeel Nederland employees took the limelight. We raised our glasses to five people with 12.5 years’ service under their belt, two who have been with us for 25 years and 35 years, respectively, and one who has been here for 40 years. We also said farewell to two employees who are retiring this year after long and successful careers. As is customary during this annual get-together, we thanked all jubilarians — in the presence of colleagues, new recruits and retirees — for their much-valued commitment over the years. During the event, Erik De Bruyn, CEO Cordeel Nederland, said, “Without you, we would not be where we are today with the company. A big thank you for that.”

Groundbreaking ceremony for UPARQ Hoogvliet commercial storage units

On Friday, 8 September, a groundbreaking ceremony kicked off the UPARQ Hoogvliet project. This festive occasion marked the start of construction. The two-storey complex in Hoogvliet will serve not only as an iconic multitenant facility but also as a valuable logistics hub for businesses in Rotterdam’s industrial area. Cordeel’s engineering department designed the project.

Cordeel builds World Tube Center for Van Leeuwen Pipe and Tube Group

On Tuesday, 5 September, Peter Rietberg, chairman of the Executive Board of the Van Leeuwen Pipe and Tube Group, symbolically drove the first foundation pile — measuring an impressive 24 metres — into the ground. This ceremonious gesture marked the official start of the construction of Van Leeuwen’s World Tube Center in Zwijndrecht, expected to be completed in April 2024.

Early engineering team involvement leads to perfectly customised commercial storage units for Uparq

Uparq, a Dutch storage unit company, commissioned our engineering department to design a facility in Hoogvliet, near Rotterdam, with 153 commercial storage units. Because of our early involvement in the design process, we were able to go beyond merely providing an architectural vision for the project. We worked closely with Uparq to understand its entire business process, enabling us to truly help shape the project and develop a design perfectly aligned with the client’s needs.

Solar frame pilot to directly supply building sites with green electricity

We recently took another step in our transition towards emission-free building sites by initiating a pilot at our location in Vlissingen. A site hut has been fitted with a specially designed robust frame containing solar panels. Supplied by Custom Containers, the solar frame is already converting the sun’s energy into electricity.
