Challenging project for hospital

Refurbishment of Mother and Child Centre at ADRZ in Goes

In Belgium, we are well known for our construction work in the healthcare sector. We are now also living up to this reputation in the Netherlands thanks to the completion of a wonderful project for the Admiraal De Ruyter Hospital (ADRZ) in Goes.

Optimum comfort for families

We have refurbished the second floor of the ADRZ and have transformed it into a mother and child centre. There are single and double rooms, delivery rooms, a neonatal care unit and suites as well as day patient wards. With this project, we have made a valuable contribution by optimising comfort for families: partners can stay overnight and all rooms have their own kitchenette and sanitary facilities.

Logistical challenge

During the refurbishment, the adjacent areas remained operational, which posed some logistical challenges. However, we drew on our extensive experience in the healthcare sector and put our know-how to good use: we had previously delivered the phased renovation of the Jan Palfijn Hospital and a new build for the Maria-Middelares Hospital in Ghent.

"I am very happy with it. We had been based in the paediatric ward for 30 years and it was really out of date," says paediatric nurse Danielle Joosse. "All rooms now have their own bathrooms and foldaway beds so that fathers can also stay overnight."
