Magnificent result for a complex project

Cordeel builds for Redemptorists in Ghent

We built 490 student units, an underground car park, a homeless shelter, a workshop, a ceremonial space and a modern beguinage for this challenging project in Ghent. Three different clients were involved and all had different requirements and wishes. Each building also has its own level of finishing.

Communication and coordination

Our clients were the Redemptorist friars’ order, the CAW OVL Centre for Welfare Work and Xior, a listed investor. Arch & Teco architects from Ghent designed all the buildings, the layout of which was subject to exceptional requirements. The ceremonial space, for instance, includes a knowledge centre and reception area. The multifunctional areas in the workshops can be arranged as desired and the parking facility has 91 spaces and 11 garage boxes. We were also responsible for the layout of the surrounding infrastructure. Through effective communication and close coordination with all parties involved, we brought this project to a successful conclusion.
