Breaking ground ceremony at Vopak Botlek terminal extension
Frits Eulderink of Vopak and Erik de Bruyn of Cordeel recently performed a breaking ground ceremony for the extension of the Botlek terminal. The event was attended by the Vopak and Cordeel teams.
The ceremony marked the official start of construction. The Botlek terminal at the Port of Rotterdam is to be expanded with 15 new stainless steel tanks. With a capacity of 63,000m3, the tanks have been designed for storing various materials, including styrene. Cordeel has been commissioned to engineer and construct a tank pit for the new storage tanks. We will also provide the foundation for the substation, the weighbridge and the pipe bridges. The tank pit is expected to be ready for use in 2020.
