New 380kV high-voltage substation 'Amaliahaven'

New 380kV high-voltage substation 'Amaliahaven'

Cordeel is contributing to the expansion of the high-voltage network.

The high-voltage network in South Holland is being used more intensively. This usage will increase in the coming years. That’s why TenneT is addressing bottlenecks and further expanding the electricity grid. On the Maasvlakte, at Dardanellenstraat and near the Princess Amaliahaven, TenneT is therefore building a new 380 kV high-voltage substation. This station contributes to making the network future-proof and meets the needs of businesses in the region.

Project properties

Project name
New 380kV high-voltage substation 'Amaliahaven'
Location
Maasvlakte
Category
Civil & Infra
The construction of the new high-voltage substation ‘Amaliahaven’ is necessary because no new connections can be made at the existing high-voltage substation on the Maasvlakte at Coloradoweg (called ‘Maasvlakte’ station). Once completed, the Amaliahaven substation will offer opportunities for connecting, among others, offshore wind farms, hydrogen plants, and other parties on the Maasvlakte.

Cordeel is building two GIS halls with a basement measuring 15.3 x 65.4 meters and 21 meters high, as well as the Coupling Building measuring 90.5 x 23 meters and 21 meters high, including all building-related installations.
