Cordeel-Van der Straaten consortium completes new quay for Damen Yachting
The Cordeel-Van der Straaten consortium recently delivered a 120-metre-long quay for Damen Yachting. The approximately 6,000 m² quayside area includes a modern workshop for storing superyacht components. Starting from the preliminary design (PD) stage, we developed the project through to implementation design (ID) and were also responsible for its full construction and delivery.
Damen and Cordeel share a long history of successful collaborations spanning several decades. Many joint projects were carried out under construction team arrangements, with engineering handled entirely in-house. Our shared track record includes constructing fitting-out docks, quays and Ro-Ro platforms in the Netherlands and Romania. We have also built shipbuilding halls over existing dry docks, offices and other facilities while restoring the historic Damen office building in Vlissingen-Oost.
This long-standing partnership has been built by our people. One example is our colleague Adri de Rijke, who first worked on a Damen project 40 years ago and has now successfully delivered this latest one.
