Eerste paal Valvoline Dordrecht

In-house engineering as a solid foundation for Valvoline’s extension

A recent groundbreaking ceremony officially launched Valvoline’s logistics facility extension in Dordrecht. To mark the occasion, Jenke Peters (senior director supply chain EMEA, Valvoline Global Operations) and Daan Schilperoort (development manager, Cordeel Nederland) pressed the red button together, joined by colleagues from both organisations.

It was a memorable milestone: Cordeel built the original warehouse on this site more than 32 years ago, and the new extension will connect directly to it. It’s great to be working with Valvoline again, building on a relationship that goes back over three decades.

All under one roof

The extension will comprise a new 1,800 m² warehouse, including a four-bay loading area. The project is a textbook example of Cordeel’s ‘all under one roof’ approach, with design, construction and property management all handled within the same organisation.

Our engineering team played a central role throughout. Working closely with our real estate service department, the entire project was developed in-house—from the first sketch to the technical elaboration and the required permits. This fully integrated approach provided a solid foundation for an efficient and well-thought-out design process.

Together with Valvoline Global EMEA, we evaluated and refined several potential layouts before agreeing on a practical, single-storey warehouse designed for high-bay racking. A dedicated loading area at the front will help keep logistics running smoothly.

The extension will strengthen Valvoline Global EMEA’s role as a key production site for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. At the same time, it highlights Cordeel’s strength as a full-service construction partner, able to take a project from initial idea through to final delivery entirely in-house.

We now look forward to a smooth construction phase and the continued success of our partnership with Valvoline!
